Recommended style for your Large Halo Engagement Ring
As the trend of halo engagement ring has grown, so has one main issue:
How do you find the perfect ring guard to fit that engagement ring? It can even be as simple as how to find a wedding band that will nicely hug your halo ring. Part of the complexity in this comes from the fact that most halos vary in height, width, and shape, so there is no universal band that will nicely sit with it. The majority of “traditional” style engagement rings can be worn with so many different styles of wedding bands, so this issue does not come up. In the recent years, halo engagement rings have exploded in popularity. TwoBirch took on the challenge of finding the perfect fitting ring enhancer for halo engagement rings!
Here is how we do it. It’s actually quite amazing. We have developed two ring guard enhancers that can be modified in three ways to perfectly fit your halo engagement ring.
Those two styles are:
These styles work because its center can be opened to accommodate most sizes of halo engagement rings. Second of all, we can add stones down the shank to match the same length of stones that are on the engagement ring. All you need to do is measure the length from where the halo ends and the stones end on one side of your engagement ring. (this only works for TB GUARD 0079; TB GUARD 0073 has too much filigree to add stones) Finally, and hopefully the easiest is the width of the shank. In other words, how wide the band is where it sits on your finger so that the new ring can be designed with the same width shank. The importance of getting very accurate measurements cannot be stressed enough. If accurate measurements are not used, then the new ring will not fit properly. Imagine that the halo is measured too small, then it will fit with the enhancer at all. Or on the other hand if the halo is measured too big, then the ring enhancer will very loosely fit.
Below are some images that illustrate the correct way to measure your halo engagement ring to ensure perfect fit.
Step one:
Measure the width of the halo from left to right, or right to left. Two sample pictures are below.
Step Two:
Measure from the top of the halo to the where the stones on the shank end. Two samples are shown below.
This might be the most difficult measurement to capture, but if you lay a string down next to the spot where the halo ends to the last stone on the shank, you can then lay the string on a ruler and measure it.
Step #3:
Measurement of width of the shank. See sample below.
This might be the most difficult measurement to capture, but if you lay a string down next to the spot where the halo ends to the last stone on the shank, you can then lay the string on a ruler and measure it.
